Positive: The surrounding area is very tranquil with olive trees and vineyards. After a day of biking it was great to have a cold beer on the porch. I got to spend a bit of time with the hosts, Maria and Philip. They were really nice and had some good insights into this part of Portugal. They also have a very sweet dog who is initially shy but warmed up after a while. Although the house is out in the country, the location seems centrally located between different areas good to visit (with a car).
